COOKIE POLICY
This Cookie Policy explains how THE ADS ENGINE ("we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our marketing website or use our platform.
1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide reporting information to website owners.
We use a minimal number of cookies — strictly those necessary to operate the platform securely. We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or any cross-site tracking technologies.
2. Cookies We Use
The following table lists every cookie placed by THE ADS ENGINE platform:
| Cookie Name | Type | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
access_token |
Strictly Necessary | 30 minutes | Authenticates your active login session on the client dashboard. Short-lived for security — automatically renewed in the background as long as you remain logged in. |
refresh_token |
Strictly Necessary | 30 days | Allows your login session to be renewed without requiring you to enter your password again. Stored as an HttpOnly cookie — not accessible to JavaScript. Cleared when you log out. |
admin_token |
Strictly Necessary | 12 hours | Grants access to the admin panel for platform owner accounts only. Not set for regular client accounts. |
csrf_token |
Strictly Necessary | Session | Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) protection token. Required for secure form submissions. Cleared when you close your browser. |
blog_lang |
Functional | 365 days | Remembers the language you selected when browsing a client blog (set only when you explicitly choose a language). Used on client blog subdomains, not on this marketing site. |
viewed_* |
Functional | 1 hour | Tracks whether you have already been counted as a unique visitor for a specific blog post, to avoid inflating view counts. The cookie name includes the post ID. Used on client blog subdomains only. |
Cookie consent preference: When you accept or decline the cookie notice on this site,
your choice is saved in your browser's localStorage (not a cookie) under the key
ads_cookie_consent. This preference expires after 365 days and is not transmitted to our
servers.
3. Analytics — Umami (Cookie-Free)
Client-hosted blog pages use Umami Analytics to collect aggregate page view statistics. Umami is specifically designed to be privacy-preserving:
- Does not use cookies or any persistent tracking identifiers.
- Does not track individual users across sites or sessions.
- Does not collect IP addresses in identifiable form.
- Collects only aggregate page views, referrer source, and device/browser type.
- All analytics data is stored on our own Hetzner Germany servers.
Because Umami does not use cookies or persistent identifiers, it does not require cookie consent under the ePrivacy Directive or UK PECR.
4. Third-Party Cookies
We do not embed any of the following:
- Google Analytics or Google Ads tracking
- Facebook Pixel or Meta tracking
- LinkedIn Insight Tag
- Any third-party advertising or remarketing pixels
Stripe (our payment processor) may set cookies during the checkout flow to manage payment sessions. These are governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
5. Managing Your Cookie Preferences
Your Current Preference
Status:
Resetting will remove your saved preference and show the cookie banner again on your next page visit.
You can also control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are stored on your device.
- Delete individual or all cookies.
- Block cookies from specific sites or all sites.
Note: blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent the dashboard from functioning correctly.
